    LCD Monitor...

    Howdy,

I'm looking into an LCD monitor, was wondering if anyone could give me any advice/recommendations on brand and size and what not. I'm looking into a 19" widescreen LCD monitor (or bigger), but decent price. About $200 U.S. I guess is about right.

    Thnx,
    T.

I dunno if there's a Fry's where you live, but I picked up a nice 19" Viewsonic monitor for $179.
Evidently, one of the basic measures of a good monitor is the contrast ratio. The higher, the better. Their el-cheapo monitors went for a lot less, had a contrast ration of 500:1. The one I got is about double that. Looks a bit nicer. Supposed to be more readable, easier on the eyes.

    That's everything I know about 'em . . . hope this helps . . .

www.newegg.com for consumers. Look for Rosewill or LG. Both great monitors for cost and efficiency. I personally run a Dell w3000 30" with dual Rosewill 19" LCD's on either side. I have never had a problem with any of them.

Viewsonic is making a more affordable line for LCD's as well and they are a fantastic monitor
