Ever think about implementing a rule that when people first sign up on this message board they are UNABLE to post for a certain period of time ? I have seen other boards do this and it works out really well. It forces the newbs to read up before they can post.

I think we should force them to head the stickies before they can post.
There are so many questions that are answered in the stickies, but all the noobs refuse to read them.

I remember a video editing forum that i use to belong to did this when i first signed up and as annoyed as i was, it did forced me to search through the forum before i posted. I learned a lot on my own before i started posting which i am sure helped avoid the same newb questions.

If you use the Fire Fox browser there is an extension that can be found here ( https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1825/ ) that is an add on for a chat.

3rd party program will confuse too many non computer literate users, especially irc. its not hard if ur into computers. but if u just log online for AR email msn ect. u will have troubles trying to use irc ect.

Problem with a chat room is someone has to be there to moderate it. If not people will talk about sources and anything else against the rules.

I don't think a chat room is needed. Just blocked them from posting so they read up for a week or two before they can post.
