How can I be a Personal Trainer?

Hey all, I'm a 21 year old Canadian college student obsessed with working out. I'm taking Business right now, and I'm looking at maybe becoming a personal trainer when i'm done school (open my own gym one day, who knows). I live in Hamilton, Ontario, and I am looking for any type of schooling for becoming a PT (correspondence, classes, etc.). Now I am wondering if there are any PTs on here that live in the GTA/Hamilton area that could recommend a good school that I could look into at becoming a PT. Nutrition courses could help as well.

    Any help is appreciated!

I was thinking the same thing.. I suppose its more for my own knowledge and maybe doing it on the side of my day job. I had a teacher in high school who did personal training on weekends and he made some pretty decent extra cash, thats what gave me the idea.

I personally like the fitness industry. I won't work in a gym forever but until I open my own business it gets me by. I am able to afford a new car, I just bought a house and on average make 60+ a year. Not the most amazing pay by any means but i'm also a manager at one of the smallest clubs in my company.

That's really good for a gym manager. The manager at my gym only makes 35k (I looked at his pay stub)

On average though personal trainers do not make alot of money. It's a great part time job though.
