What do you think are the best weightlifting belts? Leather, Nylon, contoured or not contoured?
I think APT has some pretty good belts.

Hmm..mines a Black Valeo one..its pretty good
yeh the velcro fastening belts are pretty good IMO as ones waistline tends to vary![]()
INZER... Guaranteed for life.

I only have used the leather one at the gym, and don't quite care for it. Maybe it's worn out, or the wrong size? It just feels very uncomfortable...
A lot more comfortable than a popped disc![]()
The velcro belts suck. I been using one and can't wait to change. When i am doing really heavy dead's or squats the belt always shifts which is a no no.
Old school leather.. gets the job done.
I like the contoured nylon shiek belt personally.

my roomate never uses a belt either... his midsection is like an inron furnace.. he hasnt used one for the 8 years hes been lifting, I think that his midsection is up to par with his squat and deadlift in a way that a hernia is nearly impossible..
'Nearly' isn't good enough for me. I thought my core was too strong and it could never happen (I'd occasionally squat over 5 w/never using a belt), until I saw a buddy of mine who also had never used a belt (I've seen him squat 500+ w/o) and he got a hearnia reppin 315.
Scary sh*t
