    Ancient Tattoos?

I've been trying to google it but many are just wannabe tattoo designs... I want a tattoo that you know, ancient warriors donned and stuff. I have a Scottish/Irish descent and am kind of interested in Celtic designs but again, they all look too modern. I know how they used woad and made intricate designs on them, and well, I don't wanna use woad, but I would make the tattoo blue. I just want like, a celtic design of a wolf tattooed on my shoulder or Bicep/Tricep area. You know, one that could have possibly been used in times of old. Anyone know of any sights that have pictures or what not?

I feel like a loser for posting the first two responses to one of my bulletins but whatever, lol. I'm suddenly intrigued by tattoos, and well, I probably only want one and it'll take me awhile to find that "special" one but... Which place on the body do you think it looks good to have a tattoo? You know, something that's not big and ugly, but you know nice size, people can see it... I'm thinking arm but ionno...

I like arm going on to upper chest. I have been looking through tattoo designs for quite some time and have not seen any celtic wolves. You may have to go to a good free hand tattoo artist and he'll sketch some designs out for you.

Well I did find three but they were not wolves... They were taken from The Book of Kells which is, I believe, the greatest source of information they've found on the Celts. They are hounds (dogs) and the one I like is the three chasing eachother. Since hounds were such an important symbol in Celtic society they have a lot of meaning. The three chasing eachother stand for Loyalty, Protection, and Health.
