well its very very hard to find a 2nd hand 250 almost impossible in europe to get one close to u gotta be lucky and a 125 is pretty rough to come by aswell. but my friend ride this and says its better then any 250 he seen for power and handeling i must say this is the bike of bikes for me, like for 600 i want suzuki gsxr without fail but for 125-250 i dont mind. but this bike felt so good in the showroom. i just wanted to hug it and go to sleep

It's a good track bike in the sub 250 cat. They handle amazingly, but I've found that the 250 Ninjas (which are in the same racing class) do end up raping those.
They have an extreamly close transmition ratio, and the clutch is pretty firm.
Seriously, if you are looking for a first bike, you should look into a USED bike. Preferably something between 250-500cc. The insurance is lower on those bikes, and they are lighter, and generally easier to manuver. I'd also look into a naked bike, instead of one with plastic fairings. You will, at some point, drop the bike. If you have a expensive, new sport bike and it drops you would be way more upset than if a used bike tipped over.
Ride a smaller used bike for a year, and then sell it. You shouldn't loose much, if any money on it. Then your riding skills would be more improved, and you can step up to a bigger bike.
It's like lifting weight. You don't start by benching 200lbs, you have to slowly work your way up to that point.

max i can ride is like 250cc or 25-30kw. and seriously i want a used bike for first then a new bike for my 600. but its impossible to use. and it probly be a good bike to keep for my little brother he is only 13.. but u can get on one of those at 17? so why not if i ride it 1-2 years. if not ill have to trade in towards a new bike.. sure 2nd hand is better but try to find a decent one let alone one.

Its a fun bike but be prepared to get real friendly with your local mechanic. They break down constantly

my brothers had 2 first was a 2000 model rebuilt twice, then in 2004 e bought a brand new 1, he loved them heandle well and in corners you can really hound it, but reliability even on a new 1 is awful , and expensive for parts,
he now drives a 2006 gsxr 600

If you can put it on a race track where she belongs, by all means. Otherwise, you may want a bigger CC bike just to have more pick up off the line. It depends where your riding it. The cool thing about a 125 or 250 is that you'll always feel like your racing it no matter where you ride because you can rev the shit out of them. They perform best at high speed though. Low speed is disappointing if your expecting to get knocked off the bike with G force. They don't accelerate quickly. But, up in the mountains and on twisty roads, you can walk right past GSXR1000's without grabbing a brake lever.

Get a hayabusa man... 1200CC, ****in sickest thing i have ever drove. my buddy has one, hes trying to go into pro bike racing, hes only 19! and hes on a 1200cc he looks like a little kid sitting on a bike that big. haha
a 600 will definetly whip you around though, i would go with the GSXR. or the new ninja 600cc go 0-100 in first gear? i think so

I'm looking at this for my next bike, Suzuki SV650. It's a beginner bike but it's an awsome track bike. You can race it in the mini twins class and it has a ton of aftermarket parts for it. Very quick in the corners.
They look better when you set them up for a track.
You can see how this guy is right on the liter bike's ass and actually gaining on him untill the straight away.

I was going to get into road racing, I bought a CBR600rr with the sole intention of making it a track bike but after running the numbers, it's crazy expensive to race a road bike. That's how I got into motocross. An average weekend of racing is about $150-$200 which included gas, food, and entry fee's. In my height i was doing about 20 races a season. I still want to get into road racing, it's just about having the funds to do it now.

If I can find a naked one for a good price in my city, I'd pick it up in a heart beat. The only thing I don't like about the naked version is the handle bar. But I think you can switch the one from the S over to it.

BTW, those bikes look sick with the lower fairing added on.
Plus you can get them in a SV1000!

i've had several bikes but the aprillia rs250 was my favourite by far, offcourse i only weighed 80-85kg back then. i don't think i can sit and ride it the way i did then weighing 116kg. but it sure is fun to see guys on the heavyer machines get lost when there are lots of curves.
