    Getting my doctorate

I would like advise, opinions, suggestions, experiences on choosing a doctorate program. My considerations are these in order of preference.
    1. Chiropractic school DCC
    2. PhD in clinical rehab/exercise Physiology
    3. Physical therapy DPT.

All have pro's and con's with each for one reason or another.

    Thanks for your guys help.

My PhD is in applied linguistics, so I don't really know what you're looking at, education-wise. You probably already know what each of them leads to upon graduation and the type of lifestyle/working hours each of them will afford you. Anything that AR members tell you will ultimately be of very little consequence because you'll have to choose the one that you believe is right for you.

That said, I would choose the one that I'd enjoy the most. Job satisfaction is the best reason for any career, IMO. I love my profession. I love my university. I love what I do. I work 6 months out of the year, but get paid for 12. I spend the 6 months (two 3 month holidays - summer and winter) playing with my kids, hanging out with my wife, traveling, teaching/studying aikido, and spending quality time in the gym. Just my 2 cents for what they're worth.

Best wishes and good luck to you in your academic endeavors. You won't regret having that doctorate hanging on your wall.

Try to make a list of the pros and cons of each and compared them to eachother. Se what weights heaviest in your mind.

What do you have a passion for?

I really like physiology, especially as it pertains to exercise. I like Science and learning new things. And I like money.

i think exercise physiology would be the best because it would give you the knowledge to be able to say things like - the following exericse causes excessive shear in this joint beuase of blah blah this kind of advice would prove useful to anyone going to the gym so he or she doesnt affect their joints in the long term

i dont wanna wake up one day when im 40 and be in excrutiating pain all because i didnt work ouit smart
