    200 mph Ferarri accident

I got this in a forward today. apparently the owner's son took his brand new $975,000 Ferarri that only had 5 miles on it for a little 200mph spin and totalled it. The kid, miraculously, only suffered bruising from the seatbelt.

Can't wait to see this guy's insurance premiums.

They will probably go down after he kills the kid.

Believe this was an accident in Malibu earlier this year and the owner was in the car with another guy and had been racing another vehicle.

    http://www.malibutimes.com/articles/...news/news1.txt

Both had been drinking and neither would admit who had been driving and what I remember neither ended up being charged. But I guess if you can afford an Enzo, you could give a rat's about what your insurance company might say, or if they ended up paying for the wreck.

Evicon is right. The original poster's story is incorrect. The driver was an executive the the Gizmondo video game company. He was also drunk.

"Stefan Eriksson, the 44 year-old former executive officer of Gizmondo, saw his Ferrari Enzo smashed to pieces as a booze-fuelled car race ended in the car being split in half in Malibu today. Eriksson was well over the legal blood-alcohol limit and claims he was not driving the vehicle. A claim already being widely openly mocked at time of press.

According to police reports, Eriksson claimed that a German man going by the name of Dietrich, who Eriksson had never met before, handed over the keys to his one of 399 manufactured, $1,000,000 motorcar. Then Eriksson, a convicted and proven liar, claimed the man ran away after the crash. Yes, that's right folks, a big boy did it and ran away! Perhaps the investigating officers in Malibu should be thankful a dog didn't eat the steering wheel. Amazing..."

Considering an oil change cost over $700 for the Enzo and brake pads over $6,000.00 ... chump change compared to paying around 1 million smackers and then destroying your car. Real genius.

My friend has one of those and a Konsiegnegg (sp). Says the Enzo isnt as quick as the other one. I had a video of him blowing the clutch doing a burnout on the Enzo and costing £13,000 ($20,000).

I got pics of the cars to upload from my phone if anyone wants to see them?

The Enzo is the loudest thing I've ever heard. Its like a ****ing plane tacking off.

There was a similar high speed accident that went around in videos. Don't remember if it was a vette, or a Porsche, but it rear-ended a tractor trailer straight on at well over 100 mph and it just exploded into pieces. The driver was left strapped in his seat with the seat sliding to a stop with him in it and he wasn't injured.

What saved the Enzo guys was that it broadsided the pole and cut it in half. Still freaking lucky.

The one I saw, it was a vette and the guy was ejected from his seat uninjured.

The email I received that I posted the photos from also claimed the car travelled nearly a quarter mile after impact. Hard to tell from the photos where the initial point of impact was. 2 more feet and the drivers spread all over the road. lucky SOB.

You/Your friend is right, the Konsiengnegg CCX is the fastest production car in the world.

I cant imagine the feeling of loosing control at 200mph, I recently hit 140 and was about to cry.

    True Story!!!

as some already stated, there was a very upscale party going down where the two drivers met and decided to run the two cars. In the process, the Enzo dude ran off the cliff knocking down an electricity poll during the flight downhill.

The Enzo was impoted into the States illegaly since the owner declared bankrupcy and the bank was suppose to get full ownership of the vehicle.

To make the long story short, the driver got away and the other Benz he was racing never even stopped. either way, some people drown themselves in cash and don't know what to do with it.

Ferrari said and please don't quote me on this since i do not recall the exact# but somewhere around $700K to restore the vehicle.

This story doesent make sense. Ferrari would NEVER agree to fix a car that was illegally brought here and risk getting in trouble. If the car was brought here illegally like you said then that means that the car can't even get an inspection and that means it is not even allowed on the road wich means the car is not even usable here. I don't know if someone told you this story but it sounds like to me.
