    Electric Shavers

I know this may be a spa topic, but I figure it will get much more attention here.

I was thinking about getting one for Christmas, anybody have thoughts on this (brands, quality of shave, ect)? I did a search in the spa which did not yield much results on the subject and was hoping to get some input. I know they don't give as close of a shave as straight blade, but I have a sensitive neck and get razor burn. Thanks bro-skis!

I spent a lot of money on a Braun shaver that cleans itself and even after great reviews it still can't get all the hair. I use it for a quick shave then I'll use a razor on my neck because I have yet to find an electric shaver that can get my neck smooth.

Yea, I might scratch the idea. I haven't heard of one yet that does a job comparable to a straight blade.

I've come to realize that a shave gel dictates the shave much more than the razor. I've been using Arbonne's Shave Cream that has been the best thing that I've done for my face since the day I was born. It applies very similar to a soap or a lotion would as far as the consistency is concerned. The end result being a soft, smooth shave with moisturizer to keep you from getting ingrown hairs and what not.

My lady friend hooked me up with some stuff you leave on before you shave, it opens up the hair follicles or something. It's called coochie cream, not sure why

You have you use the shaver on your face and under your chin area and the sideburn trimmer on your neck so you don't get the red rash!!!

I use it everyday or sometime everyother day...takes 1 minute, quick and easy!!

Gotta go with the straight razor Mach 3 Turbo. Nothing works better, not even the new Fusion. I have both and I still use my Mach 3.
    Electrics never work for me.

I have an el cheapo corded "3 disc" Phillishave that I use when I am in a hurry (we have to be clean shaven before starting out shift at the fire station), but it does a crap job. Leaves a shadow.

For regular shaving I use blades (Shick 3 bladed disposables), but as others have said it's the shaving cream thats the real secret! I use a cream (comes in a tube like toothpaste) that you foam up in a mug and apply with a shaving brush. It does an AWESOME job.

I also occasionally use a straight razor for fun (a real nice Dovo 5/8, for my nostalgia streak).

Ya, real men use straight razors . . .
They're frugal, too. All you need is a good razor ($50-$100), a hone ($50) and a strop ($40) and you're set for life. Never have to buy another razor ever again.

I have been preachin this for a while now man. Straight blade is the best possible way to shave, very clean, smooth and feels amazing. Plus the fact you look cool as shit while doing it.

I would never use a lousy Mach 3 or all of these other stupid shaving gimmicks, Mach 3, Quatro...what a joke, its like a contest who can make the most blades. All along they never realized the best way is with 1 blade not 50.

Is there much technique to it? I've never known anybody who does this, but I def wouldn't mind it. Any websites you know with more info? Thanks
