Is your wireless card on your laptop picking up any networks at all? If so, is yours just not showing up as an available network?

Right. If you don't see any networks in the list or an error, it's most likely off. The key is usually fn+F2, or a switch on the side or front of your laptop.

If your PC is built on Windows XP, go to your desktop and right click on "My Network Places" and then choose "Properties". This displays all of the various connections that reside within your PC. If you do in fact have a wireless interface, then you will see an icon that says "Wireless Network Connection". Try that and let me know what you see.

That's your security encryption key. What is your modem configured for (WEP or WPA)? The encryption key from your modem and wireless interface much match in order for you to successfully connect.

You're going to need some onsite help. Are you in the States? If so, I recommend that you reach out to a local mom and pop shop for assistance. If you're in the States and are somewhat close to a Best Buy, contact their "Geek Squad" and they'll come to you.

Have you actually ran the setup disk for the wireless modem/router installation? This is how you establish the security credentials within the device. You then configure your PC's wireless adapter to match the security credentials of your modem/router.

When all else fails, refer to the instructions.
