ticket for window tint....
had 5% tint all around on my car for probably over 3 years now. love the way it makes the car look, never had problems. tonite just ran to get a pop from the store and on way back get pulled over. lady cop told me that i ran into a cop that really hates tint ... anyway had a question, on the ticket she wrote obstructed view.... the only thing that came close to matching it on the fine sheet was obstructed vision and the sheet said it was 2 points. shouldn't the ticket simply say tinted windows??? unless she actually really wants to screw me over and get me points. also, it wasnt marked as being waivable, from other people i know, it seems like the fine is always waivable if they removed the tint. is it even possible to get points for tint??

Yeah usually obstruction tickets are given if there is something in the front windsheild but i'm not sure exactly. Maybe you should fight it and atleast you have a chance to get out of it.

Sounds like she is trying to make it seem mroe harsh than it actually is.
Obstruction and tinting are different IMO.
Just say it was a higher % when they ask, how the **** is that bitch gonna prove otherwise ? **** em.

that sucks man! it is scary for a cop sometimes to pull someone over with dark tint because u have no idea what's going to happen when the window rolls down

ya, another thing is that she was in the opposite lane then did a U turn. soon as she did that me and buddy put windows down. she then drove beside me, saw the windows down and then got behind and hit her lights. then she said ill assume u have tint by the way u dropped ur windows when u saw me. basically i got the ticket on putting windows down and her assuming i have tint. seems her never confirming what i had on my windows could be good argument. thats assuming she would actually say she never confirmed how dark my tint was, but odds of a cop telling the truth when its not gonna benefit them are pretty low

Go to the optomotrist (sp?) and get a prescription for glasses, then they can't do shit. I forgot, thats what my GF did.

you said ALL you windows are tinted?
than in itself is illegal. it must be so slight that people can barely notice it. you CANT touch that front window brotha. and if you have all 4 sides done your not suppose to do the back either, from what ive been told.

I have all mine done real dark. I have a prescription from my optometrist claiming that I'm photophobic (light sensitive) and I need my windows tinted. You have to get the prescription registered through the state and you won't have any problems when you get pulled over.

I use to have 5% on my two front side windows as well, personally it is dagerous, i almost pulled out in front of a motorcycle at night. I did get a ticket eventually. Its not worth having personally. Just get 10% or whatever is legal, its safer and doesn't look Ghetto. You gotta make it look classy, not trashy!!

I agree. 5% is too much. I'm not even sure what mine is. It's on my Envoy I just asked the company to match whatever the stock tint was on the back windows. 20%? I don't know.

talked with court and attorney and basically the obstructed view is just the lady trying to screw me over for whatever reason. gonna go to informal and see if i can get points taken off. as for tint plan to remove it when i go to court and replace it with 20%. 5% is nice especially in summer but with winter here and it being cloudy almost every day 20% will work.

i got a ticket in georgia for tints, but went to court with proof that they were removed and it was dismissed.

I got a ticket on Sunday going 24 mph over the posted limit (89 in a 65). One mile away from losing my license. I was pissed because I had my radar detector on, the state trooper informed me that they have new technology in Iowa. The beam is so small and so quick that my detector can not sense it. Fuk!!
