those spy gadgets are mostly bullshit, buy a metal detector wand and scan people...if you're into something dodgy they usually won't mind. Might be a bit weird if you're regular person tho..

mostly bs i can go with, but wires like he is talking about...is possible.

wireless gadgets like those, probably produce a signal, am/fm/uhf. so if all you need to do is detect the wire, then i don't see why it can't be done.

i just searched google....it could still be bs, but i don't know

I used to have one that looked like a pager, it had an antenna wire that I would place behind my belt and wrap around my waist, cell phones and hand held radios set it off. I had it in my hand one day with the antenna hanging out, when I walked by a television the static from the screen pulled the antenna to it and fried the unit, never worked again, I guess it was kind of sensitive. The problem is these things only work when there is a transmitter, many times LE just use recorders, I have seen some recorders that looked like tape measures, I am sure that they come in thousands of disguises.

'wiretaps' today are not technically wiretaps anymore....they are done with the telco companies at the telephone switch level...aka nothing you can control...if its illegal wiretaps, you will most likely need a very powerful am/fm scanner as the latest technology for wiretaps use ultra low power higher frequency transmitters...if you are nervous about something PM me...i'm an information security specialist...
