    Ninja Warrior?

Anyone watch this? The obstacles are insane with real world athletes and regular tough guys competing. I just caught a small glimpse of this show and though WOW!

Do you think you could make it through the 3 levels?

It's a Japanese program called "Sasuke" that is held a few times each year. This was the first time I'd seen them with subtitles for English-speaking audiences. Is this available on Spike TV or other cable network?

Just a note - they only invite "gai-jin" (foreigners, usually Westerners) who are professional athletes. Most of the Japanese competitors wear funny or unusual costumes, but the 10 or so serious Japanese Sasuke competitors train exclusively for these events year round. Several of them have built their own obstacle courses matching that of the show. This is the reason they only invite Western professional athletes - so that they can say regular Japanese (and these guys are not very big at all) are just as good as elite "gai-jin" (suggesting that Japanese are superior to other races). A few friends and I tried to sign up a few years ago and they turned us down because we weren't pro athletes.

Anyhow, it's a very entertaining program and the female version called "Kunoichi" (female ninja) is even more fun to watch.

Sounds like they are still upset about that WWII thing.
