they should be recording their new album right now and it's expected to be released before the year is over. i've heard 2 of the new tracks they played live on youtube (they are called "the new song" and "the other new song")and they sound pretty damn good. i think they are prolly a little embarassed after the st. anger bs and are going back to old school stuff.

kill em all, ride the lightening, master of puppets, and justisce for all are all tied at number one. But master of puppets might be my favorite. its really tough but if i had to narrow it down to 1 in would be masters.
edit- i had to take back what i said about the black album. it s got some good songs on it for sure
i like load and reload alot tooLast edited by IronReload04; 01-26-2007 at 06:22 PM.

Best ****ing band ever.
1. MOP
2. Justice
3. Black Album
4. Garage Inc. (love the covers)
I genearlly listen to live Metallica so i get all of it together. Metallica was a ****ing fine tuned machine in 91-93 and i am glad i got to see them during that time. Seen them seven times or so and met Hetfield, Newsted and Kirk..**** if i know where Lars was? I remember Kirk not knowing either.
St. Anger was pathetic..ugh!***No source checks!!!***

Master of Puppets. The best album ever. As old as it is I can still listen to it today and it still rocks. I don't think there is anything out there that compares even today, Oh yea and I agree everthing after the black album sucks.

[QUOTE=24labor]A good album to rock to for everydayers, but to the metal community this is a disgrace of an album b/c Metallica were and still are gods and innovators of thrash (particuarly bay area thrash, but Kill'em All is considered to be one of the first thrash albums). After 4 solid albums they traded in their pounding thrash sound and sold out by adding in weak riffs and softer volcals. They saw that this style of music would make them more money and then put out a few more shameful albums. It really all went downhill when Cliff Benton passed died he was the guy that used to keep the band on track and thrash oriented. after him Jason Newsted took over and they put out their final "good" album And Justice for All. Thats the Black album in a nut shell to the metal community, I personally love this album b/c it was the first metal I ever listened to way back in second grade and have been hooked since it has a sentimental meaning for me, but lets get back to the question either Master of Puppets or Ride the Lightning is my choice
Wasn't it Cliff Burton?
