Needle Phobia - Advice Please

Hi all,

I'm desperately trying to mentally overcome a phobia of needles. I can pick them up and play with them or whatever, but in my head I just think the pain is going to be unbearable!!

I know it's stupid but it really grips me and causes panic.


What I wanna do is pluck up the courage to stick myself with an empty pin just to get the feel of it. Will probably have a few vodkas 1st!!

But....


Could I say trying sticking myself with just sterile water, like just 1ml or something?? Or would it need anything else added to be safe?? Or maybe something which would more accurately replicate the consistency of IGF ideally!!

I dont wanna go buying any gear and then being able to inject!!

Dude I know its easy for me to say but it really doesnt hurt at all. I was very nervous when I injected the first time. I was shaking like a leaf and did it in my glute which is complicated the first few times. When I slid the needle in I wondered what the fvck all the fuss was about, I literally never felt a thing. I have progressed to lots of other sites now but the quad is by far the easiest. You are sitting down and have total control. I cant help you overcome your fear but I can assure you that if you get the courage to do it once you will never look back.

My bitch nurse used one on me by mistake and I reported her to
the Doc. When I gave blood they used a 16 guage. Freaking thing
still scares me. I wake up with cold sweats.

Bro, that's not going to make the guy feel any more comfortable LOL . If you're going to make a dry run you won't need to put anything into the barrel. Just stab yourself to get the feel of it and get on with it. The first time I did it I blank shot a hundred times before I got the courage to just poke away. Get a slin pin to dry run.

Once in a while my wife gives me the shot..well one time she forgot to switch(or just wanted to) and she got me with the 18g. It hurt a little but it wasnt as bad as you would think. So, if I can take the 18, you can take a 23 or 25

I've got a psychological phobia, not a fear of pain!! My pain threshold is incredibly high, a dislocated knee is like a walk in teh park for me these days!!

Some fvcking nurse years ago stuck me in a major nerve and in the bone, b4 that i was fine with injecting!!


Bollox, I'm now going to the drug store to get myself a slin pin pack. I've decided I'm gonna stick my calf as I have no pain response there, maybe that'll help the psycho bit and then will do a quad with a drop of sterile water.

Actually, I did answer your question about injecting just bw. Why? If you have a needle phobia, why do you think you have to have something in the barrel and inject when all you're interested in is getting past the needle going in part? Do a dry run, you don't need anything in the barrel just to poke. Just do your poke and leave the plunger alone and pull out. Simple.

Understand what you said about no pain in your calf, I just wouldn't do the calf under any circumstances, too many issues with doing the calf. Do your quads and delts. Maybe the two best to get past what you're experiencing. Good Luck Bro.

MY 2nd shot was with a 18g. Just make sure its not a big water gun like that for your 1st shot and youll be ok

i stuck my quad today for the 1st time actually doing a shot myself. i didnt even feel it. it went straight in no problems the only little pain in the ass part was, it was a 25g and took some time to get into my leg(the juice), which caused me to shake..lol but even then it didnt hurt.

im a nervous fvuking reck when i inject..

i have really sensitive insides, i can feel the entire needle touching the muscle fibers (i only use 23g) and i feel all the liquid deposite and i get a sick gross feeling..

and it can hurt if you hit a nerve...ive hit a nerve head on and it was really bad

now im a utter pussy about injecting, takes me like 10 min to build up the courage to inject...id say im needle phobic but i can eventually get over the fear temporarily just to get out of the situation.

its difficult at first, human nature is your not gonna let yourself do something that will "hurt" yerself. the truth is you have to suck it up, after a few shots you will find it easy, as you'll find it doesnt hurt.

the 1st shot is def the hardest, just try to relax. Take a shower before you inject to relax your muscles and have everything laid out ready to go e.g swab and spare pin for drawing, i was s***ting myself before my first injection but once its done you will laugh at how easy and painless it is. I actually look forward to injection days now lol, good luck fella.

I can totally feel your pain, I don't like neddles but I am trying to lean on who to do it myself so I can start my first cycle. So good luck with geting over your fear of neddles and tell us how it goes.
