    hernia question?

Maybe I'm being a little paranoid, but this has been bothering me lately. Lets start from the begining. I wrestled a 270 pound kid one night (and beat him). Two days later I noticed my left testicle was hurting slightly. It felt kinda like blue balls. The pain lasted the whole day, but went away the next day. Yesterday, I helped my dad carry our treadmile to our basement, and I bumped my nuts slightly, and the pain came back and lasted the whole night. I'm not sure if the pain was due to lifting treadmile or bumping my nuts. The left side of my pelvis hurt a little too, but today the are both fine. So my question is is there any way I can check myself for a hernia? I have no health insurance at the moment, so I really don't want to risk f#cking myself up. Thanks guys.

Hernia would be higher up. Think about where your pelvis is. I would be in that area. It would be extremely tender and if you had a bad tear your intestines would be bulging out! I've seen it, not pretty!

could be a hernia or a trapped nerve or something.
sometimes when you get hit in the nuts you can feel it around your belly button, and vice versa.

i had two. first on the right side, then the left. mine were inguinal (sp?) which basically meant that part of my intestines fell into my sac (yes, my sac) because the muscle ring holding your guts up but letting your testicular tubes through were naturally weak. the right one ruptured when i was 16, left one at 17. it hurt a bit, but did strain my testes because of the weight. it was pretty obvious. not sure about more internal hernias, but i think you usually see a bulge in your side/stomach.
