Be very careful. There are plenty of operations that went very bad. The
eye twiches and you can get horrific results. This is supposed to be
operation of last resort.

I had LASIK performed approx 2 years ago here: http://www.sunalplaservision.com/
Cost at the time was US $1500.00 or so and was some of the best money that I have ever spent.
I had an astigmatism in my left eye and was nearsighted in both eyes. Driving at night was getting kind of scary and shooting my pistol at the range, even at 25 yards was getting to be no fun. I had worn glasses and/or contacts for at least 5 yrs before the procedure.
Be sure to investigate the procedure and the doctor that you are considering as there are definitely risks involved.
My own personal experience has been great. My vision now tests at 20/10 in both eyes with no glasses or contacts and I have had no side effects at all.
Your experience may vary by a mile, so give it a lot of thought and really check it out. You only get one set of eyeballs!!

Im pretty interested in it as well. I had 20/25 vision up until I was like 14 or 15 then it went straight downhill. Now I can barely read the letters under the massive K at the top

I was an always contacts person but then i started to get that gritty/sandy feeling under the eyelids, most people who wear contacts all the time get it basically feels lik your contacts are dirty always, i switched to glasses and picked out some fahsionable ones and just wore those for a year and did the "eye-washing" where you clean your eyes in the shower everyday, basically use clean hands to rub over your closed eyes with gently with jhonsons baby shampoo, ask your eye doctor about it they recomend it.
Basically after a year my eyes felt brand new and now i use contacts only when i'm training in MMA i wear the diposable ones.
When i asked my doctor about lasik he told me the chances of something going wrong are like 1-2%, and i said wow that is low! but he told me if i was one of those 1-2% i would regret it all my life! SO why not wait till they perfect it a little more?
I personally dont see i big sfaety jump between 1-2% and 0.5-1% but hey why not wait a couple of years?

Whenever I get enough cash I will do it. I have had horrible eyesight since I was 9 and I am bloody sick of it. My eyes dont like contacts very well either.

holy shit -8; you must have been wearing coke bottles! i have a couple friends with eyes like that (astigmatism too) and they spend enough on contacts every 6 months to have paid for lasik each time.

Few years back I was bangin a chick that had huge classes now has lasik and sees really good. Maybe the reason we dont see each other any more. Not really, but she dont need the glasses anymore and she payed for it herself.

My brother is an optho. He charges about $3000 a set (takes him all of 15 minutes, the bastard!). He has over a 99% success rate, one of the safest procedures out there if done right.

Lasik surgery may not be a good idea if you play a contact sport.
The danger of having a detached cornea after a tackle or a hit goes way up after Lasik surgery.
It's lousy playing Rugby or Football with contact lenses, one always seems to pop out mid-play; still, it's better than loosing a cornea.
