    I tawt I taw a putty tat

Just thought Id share with you an event that happened to me last week.

I was driving a van through a local residential area taking a short cut to town on a clear sunny winters day when a cat ran out from the pavement and was hit by my nearside front wheel, I heard the thumping of the poor cat going round the wheel arch a few times before I stopped. I got out of the van and saw a cat lieing stretched out motionless in the gutter with its tounge hanging out and just a slight twitching in its tail.

I did what I thought to be the decent thing and grabbed the cats head in one hand and its shoulders in the other and swiftly snapped its neck to put it out of its suffering, its a well practised technique from rabbit hunting when I was a kid. A split second later a middle aged woman ran from a nearby house and proceeded to beat the crap out of me with a broom shouting profanities saying she was calling the police to have me locked up.

Afer chasing me round my van with the broom a few times the woman went back inside her house to call the police. I thought Id best hang around and wait for them to save them coming to my house later and arresting me as she had obviously taken my registration down.

After about ten minutes a police car arrived with two cops in it. A male officer came to my over to my van and his female colleague went to talk to the still hysterical woman. I explained to the officer what had happened and he stood there taking notes and nodding, then he starts walking round my van looking it over including underneat it.

He then came back to me and said, Well Sir if thats true then why is there a dead cat stuck to your steering rod.

There are few componenets to a steering rack, and I cannot think of 1 part that could that is called a steering rod.
All the steering components are tucked inside the wheel, away behind the brake assembly and under the oil pan.

I really don't think this is true

Not on a 1990 Renault Traffic, thats just what the cop said to me, the actual component the dead cat was stuck to was infact the track rod which runs from the steering rack to the wheel hub steering balljoint. You call BS because of that insignificant minor detail LOL

In the UK they are called track rods, Ive changed enough of them to know, but that is besides the point. I had a traumatic experience, I am mentally scarred, I came to seek solice from my friends and confidants in the AR lounge and what do I get... Suspicious minds thats what.
