XBOX360 media center extender error

howdy doody.

my 360 is being a twat, it wont let me play the video's from my pc through media center anymore. always used to.
but it now says there is an error and that i have to reset my media center extender. which im assuming means the xbox. but surely resetting that is gonna loose all my game saves, gamertag, xbox live account etc.

i want to watch my porn and stuff on my tv. HELP.

i have had it working for about 9 months but just recently it wont play the videos. i can connect to media center via the 360 to the pc to view photo's etc just not the video's.
