I was billed like $2,000. for my shoulder surgery after insurance and I called the hospital and requested to be put on a payment plan. I received nothing for 2 months, and I called them once a month to see why I hadnt received any paperwork or the "coupon book" for the payments, I had to leave a message both times with no call back.

Now I get a notice from the credit bureau that ti was sent to collections and i need to pay it in full or my wages will be garnished....WTF!!!???

I called the credit bureau adn they said they will do nothign to help me of course, and the hospital says it is out of their hands.

send this letter to the hospital, unfortunetly for them to get a garnishment, they would have to have a judgement..

make a small payment directly to the hospital, see if they cash it, if you end up in court you can claim they did accept terms of payment..

Make a payment plan with the collection agency, they can only take a small % of your check anyway, But watch you checking and savings, they could put a freeze on them..

as long as you are making moves to pay something (even if its a smaill ass amount) you will not be turned over to collection..
ex... i had a membership at a gym in tn... 2mths later i moved to another state... the mgr told me that as long as i sent them like 5 bucks a mth they could not turn me over... lol i hope its the same for hospital bills bro.

Agreed. File suit. you have proof that you made contact with them, and they didnt return your call?

Even if you can't prove that you called them and left messages. Argue that you have no proof you called, HOWEVER they never attempted to contact YOU before contacting the credit bureau.

You should call in Bill Handel.. or whoever he is on the Radio.. he has a show called HANDEL ON THE LAW. he gives GREAT legal advice to people who call in.

go to the bank and take out a personal loan. should be no problem to get 2k. pay it to them and make monthly payments to the bank..
