Just a thread to see what everyone thought.
I saw the 12:01 show..
Pretty badass in my mind. Maybe not a Gladiator..but I would say its up there.
I'd write more but im tired and time to sleep..ill add more tmr

Well on the trailer the guys looked F-in ripped.
To me it looks like it will be a great flick. Good action and you always gotta love old school fighting.

They all have like 5% bf lol
Somethin looks strange about it almost..like they have like "ab suits" on or soemthing. Sounds weird..its just that every single one has no bodyfat.
If you like old school fighting and bodyparts flying off..you'll like this movie

the girls next to me were freaking and im like shutup that aint real.
I swear I must have heard the word "tone" 100 times. I want to kill babies when I hear that word.

I'm looking forward to seeing it tomorrow too!
I caught a show on one of the learning channels about it last night and really enjoyed it..now lets see how historically accurate it is.

i herd all the actors in this movie were hired personal trainors and everything. Insane diet plans and workout schedules. months and months of training beofre actual filming.

Saw it last night at 11:59 as well. Movie was bad ass....good narration leading up to major story lines and great slow motion fighting scenes. Good movie overal. 3 1/2 outta 4 stars.

Ya, those Spartans were a tough bunch, probably make US Marines look like wusses.
Baby Spartans were inspected for defects, if you had any, you'd be killed. Boys and girls lived with the mother. When the boy was 15, he'd be paired off with a 25 year old who would mentor the youngster in warfare. They would also build an "intimate" relationship as well, which was supposed to make them fight more fiercely to protect each other. When the kid was ready to marry, he and his wife would have enough sex to produce a child, then he'd go back to his mentor. Usually the mentor would eventually be killed in combat, or he'd retire to a prominant position in the community, where they'd run roughshod over their slaves, who provided the labor to make their society work. The younger Spartan would, at age 25, in turn mentor another 15 year old, and the cycle would continue. Their society ran like this for about 800 years . . .
They would drink pig's blood several times a day, as it was supposed to make them strong (lots of protein, no doubt). Training was strenuous, they usually went barefoot and often, ill-clad in freezing weather. The ones who survived the process were awsome dudes, awsome fighting machines.
I wonder how much of Spartan society the movie will accurately portray . . .

I just saw it! I really enjoyed it. Very well acted I thought too.
But you are right! At times it seemed like a giant commercial for the Ab roller!!!!!

No I seriously liked it Chest dawg. I just found parts to be fairly predictable, but I guess thats like every movie now right? All the stories are taken and nothing original is ever made.
But the movie itself was done really well and I seriously did enjoy it. But the people sitting around me did NOT enjoy my gas bombs I let off throughout the entire movie, got some serious cut eye but what did they expect when I ate beef and pasta before coming?
