    "High in protein" my ass.

Has anyoen else noticed that on certain food containers and supplements or whatever, they say "High in protein" or "Great source of protein" and the ****in thing has like 8g of protein in it..............literally, with 37g of carbs and 11g fat.

What does it take to have soemthing considered "high protein" ?

    Supplement companies are crooks.

no even better than that is when something says "only 5g's net carbs"

wtf! does that mean? cuz you look at it and it says like 35g's of carbs where the fvck does the 5g's "net" come in....does that mean divide by 7? lol

it means that only 5 grams count, the other ones have no impact on blood sugar.

I learned this in nutrition. Its all based on the RDA, how much you need of each gram in your diet. In normal diet (food pyramid) you only need 50-65 grams of protein a day. So when something has i think its 10% or more of your daily total or the actual product is composed ofr more than 10-15% protein its considered "high"...same goes with when they claim low in fat becuase the percentage is all based on the "daily requirements"

you have to understand the FDA says 50 g of protein is all you need so based on that logic, 8 grams would be just under 20% of the days intake

however i would be lieing if i told you their wasnt a time in my life where i had 3 servings of peanuts and cerial for breakfast thinking i was the man cuz i just ate a high protein "meal"

I like how some foods say "No Hydrogenated Oils" or "No Trans fat", but what people dont realize is that as long as it's less than 1 gram of trans fat per serving they can put it on the label when really its chalk full of trans fat.
