    Question 401k

I am losing a lot of money in my 401 although I wouldn't tell the amount that I had lost ( sorry just for personal privacy). One of my investment fund is doing good though but the other funds is kinda in a bad side. In what amount of lost is too much that makes you changes to another investment funds? (500? 1000? ) I would say 1000 is already enough for me to go with another investment. Any suggestion of what funds are good to invest would be appreciated!

Does looking in the morningstar average expense ratio important? ( Is that the key that is a good funds to invest) ( That might be a dumb question lol)

I know its hard to relax when your losing money but..
Markets go up and markets go down.
I've been thru 2000 crash, . I've already seen it once.
Some people here, have experienced the crash in 87 and also the 01' they know even more than me.
Eventually the markets do go up and will always set new records.
    but in the meantime...

Maybe you went into an way to aggresive mutual fund?
maybe u need to get something a little bit more conservative.
    Talk to your broker.
Tell them your concerns, see what they have to say..
and ask them about the fees n stuff, that come with switching funds.

It is a marathon not a sprint, if you start moving things around every time they seem down you will lose it all eventually.

Have more than one type of retirement account, I have 4 ..

remember..while those funds are going down..you are still buying them.. at a lower cost
if you are making regular contributions to a well respected fund.. you should be ok in the long run

I personally like it when the market has these slumps...I get more shares for the same amount of money

The market is due for a turn. I would take it out of funds now wait to invest when I feel rock bottom has been hit.

I'm down about 2200$ overall..but that is only on paper..you truly have a loss if you sell low.

you have to do what you think is right

I'm not going to change anything...the market will go back up....it always has

These guys are giving sound advice. While it's probably very tempting to check and see where your at, in the long-run, you'll be up. I like the marathon analogy, I think I'll steal that line.

My brother also brought up an interesting idea. He seems to think the money market is where it's at because of the strenght in the EU. I havne't looked into it much, but a buddy of his made some good cash a few years back by investing into it. Mightbe worth a look.
