Xbox360: Flashing Red Lights on Console
Hey folks,
I've had my Xbox360 for close to a year now and I've used it maybe twice. I've attempted to use it once again tonight but the console starts up with three flashing red lights. I've done some research on this symptom via the Xbox website and it appears that this is a very common error. It appears that I will have to ship it back to Microsoft on my own dime to fix a manufacturing flaw.
I walked through the online troubleshooting tips with no success. My power supply LED is green when powering the console, so it's not a power supply issue.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, what did you do?

Not me but my cousin got a defective xbox 360 that did that. Supposedly the earlier versions are just full of errors. He sent his to Microsoft and got another one back.

Good to know. I'd like to think that my console would be replaced with a newer version from Microsoft.

Nah..I was just sayin that cuz we need to lift before I go back to school.
Where? I dunno. lol. The place I went to tonight I just kinna snuck in and walked quickly to the weight section when no one was looking

Yeah, the first version of Xbox 360s had alot of flaws... check your waranty, because I think it was originally only 6 months on 360s.

take it back to the shop you bought it from. i know in the uk they are sending them back for the customers. a friend of mine runs a game store and he says he gets atleast 3 a day being returned.

I had the same problem with my 360. I got one from the frist release and it messed up in December of last year. The warranty for the initial run of 360's was extended and I got a free replacement in less than a week. Customer support at xsoft was very good. Good luck.

Chest is stronger than someone?????
My brother had the same problem, but I think Microsoft extended the warrany to a year on the 360 anyway. Sux you gotta pay to ship it, but what can ya do???

I have a 360..have not enjoy it yet., I like baseball games..just waiting for an EA sport one, 2KSPORTS suck IMO

All 360 come with a 1 yr. warrenty. Call them send it, you'll get a new one. Some times just taking the hard-drive off fixes it.

Is very common it happened to my friend, I think it have something to do with the xbox live thing. Anyways call the customer service number and tell them your problem. Then they will ship you a box w/o no charge and fix it for you. It will be back to you about I think three weeks or so.

My 360 died about a month ago, it hasn't been easy rejoining the real world.

Well if u buy the insurance for it than u can take it back to the store and turn around with a new one in hand. Mine did the same thing so i took it back to EB and they gave me a brand new one on the spot. plus the insurance aint but an Xtra 50 bucks. Well worth it then sendin it back to microsoft and waiting for a month to get it back
