I live "near" Cocoa Beach. Close to where the Space Shuttle goes up from.

I really like Tampa. In a way though coming from the big apple, Tampa is kinda like a fake city with downtown being 8x8 city blocks. Its odd becuase its a ghost town during the day and everything closes before 5pm...has lots of potential.

Yea, coming from New York it would seem like "less" of a city. I like that though. It's not overwhelming like NYC, but still has its perks (pro sports, night life, ect). Thats what attracts me to the city. It seems clean and new, and also has a younger population compared to many other Florida cities. It's also the only place in Florida I've ever visited throughout my life, so maybe my opinion is a bit bias. I couldn't do Miami, seems way to superficial. I've got a few friends who live down there now, and one of my friends is moving down in 5 weeks, so I'll prob be heading there more often, and hopefully move in the future.

being from the northeast all my life, florida is culture shock really. Its not for everyone-thats for sure. Its TOTALLY different than what most of us are used to up here...its flat as hell & all the roads & infrasctructure are square..there a re almost no winding roads & obviously no hills or real tall trees etc..It definitley lacks some personality. People visit there & think its sooo nice & bla bla bla...of course-you're on vacation!! once you live there, it will be the same bullshit you are used to in your own town, just in florida...Real estate isnt as cheap as people assume it is..unless you want to live in a hick town...I compare it to long island 30yrs ago...it was new/fresh & inexpensive...now its getting built up & many places arent so new anymore..Personally- I like it,but I hve buinesses & family there..

I used to live near clearwater, even though part of my family is still there now. The area around Tampa Bay is expanding pretty quickly. Ybor city wasnt bad for partying.
