    Calling all New Yorkers!

    Hi there..

I'm going to NY in Mai for 10 days, I'll be staying in Manhattan on the Bentley hotel.

I'l going to shop in Macys, Abercrombie, best buy etc.. but I have not found a single sports store on the internet, can someone tell me were to find sports clothes, products and so on.. ?

I'm not trying to buy proteins, just some gym wear, clothes, straps etc..

anyway, I'm also trying to find out were to dine out, not the fancy places ( i have them in some brochure ) but the pizza's and some burger places.

and las but not least, any thing I should see in NY ?

I've never been in NY .. only dozen times to Miami.

Where are you coming from that you are going to NY and looking forward to shopping at Macy's and abercrombie? I don't know of any sports clothes stores. You can find pizza places every where. If you are planning on going to nice restaurant make reservations now.

When you get to your hotel just ask the people at the front desk and get a map of Manhattan. There are literally TONS of places you will find sports stuff and stores for whatever you want. The best way to find what you want is to just ask people on the streets and the concierge at your hotel.

The Bentel hotel is East 62nd street. There are a lot of designer clothing stores on east 57th street. I'm not sure about sports wear stores in the east 60ths. I just know there is a sports wear store in Chelsea. 6th avenue around 20th-22nd street.

Go to Evas. It's a nutrition store and everyone who competes go there. You'll run into a few pros. It's on west 8th between 5th and 6th avenue.

Yeah wasn't carnegie deli on the news some time back because of unsanitary conditions? If I was going to eat anything like that I would go to Kats Deli on Houston street. THAT place is the shiznit!!

I think there is also a Mo's on 42nd and Broadway, there is also a champs on 42nd in that area, I believe on the corner of 7th, but I'm not sure if they would have the kind of stuff you are looking for.

I'm gay and I live in Brooklyn. I used to live in Queens. Gay people aren't just in Manhattan. And you're one to talk about gay people with all of that hair. Get a haircut!

LMAO!! @ the "get a haircut" lol
Carlos I may need you to write a thread about style/fashion, I just made a new gay friend and dude already has me thinking like a chick.

I notice he doesnt wear anything particulary fancy & expensive, just has a nack for detail and knows how to convey a fun/intelligent image more than anybody Ive met before.

I seriously thought I was on top of my game untill I met this guy. Not to mention the amount of gorgeous women friends he has, I think he will be my new bestfriend actually for a while lol..

Im could be completely generalizing but if you know any secrets/tips feel free to share. I have an obession with grey & blue colors and *thought it looked good but have now been experimenting with greens, black, pinks etc.
Have actually had a good share of compliments since.

I'm a dude that dresses like a dude. I dunno if you noticed in my avatars I'm either in jeans and a tshirt or in gym cloths. That's the extent of my wardrobe. A lot of times my boyfriends pick out my cloths. I hate cloths shopping and always will. Now shopping for electronics on the other hand, I'm in heaven.

If you need advice about electronics, let me know.

Well first thing I've realize is tight/or semi-tight is always better than loose and baggy. Im not talking about emo tight where guys wear girls jeans that are so tight they wabble like penguins.
I just say especially if you have a nice physique wearing loose clothing does you a major disservice, that should go without saying.

Color wise, my wardrobe is about 50% grey or blue fleeces, dress shirts, hoodies, and regular blue jeans, pants or grey dress pants. The other 50% is dress shirts (white, pink, orange, maroon, red, blue and black)
Than I had regular casual wear like striped collared long sleeve shirts and a few from my "peackcocking" selection which are just the crazy club shirts, like a polyster blue club shirt with pink metallic sort of flowers on it and some other crazy shit.

Point being, I ALWAYS wear the same few shirts/pants just because its what Im comfortable with but sometimes you gotta experiment and step out that comfort zone to find a new & better style.

And when my gay friend so my closet he was like holy shit!! Because I have all these nice clothes I never wear and he couldnt get over why I wear the same colors all the time. I just always thought I looked best in them.

So he picked out a green stiped shirt with dark blue faded jeans (that i never where because they're just a little too tight) and instead of the normal boots I wear I put on a pair of brown dress shoes.

We were going to the bar and I am one of those people who wears a hat 24/7and recommended putting some gel in my hair and didnt really spike it but didt something he calls a "perfect mess" like you purposely try to mess your hair up untill it actually looks good, and I couldnt believe how nice it looked.

Add to that some other tips he said like putting a very thing film of vasoline on your eyebrows (makes them shine) and told me a few weeks ago to get a pair of those tinted/polarized prescription glasses which I mainly use to drive or see the black board but wore to the bar that night and I have to admit I looked pretty damn good with them.

Im still experimenting but the one thing he's getting me into is wearing different colors everyday just to break my obsession with dark colors as people who do this all the time tend to be percieved as the serious type or sometimes even depressed or anti-social.

Probaly nothing profound but its a work in the making and once I find a new style I like and really get up to date maybe Ill make a post on it. I just know its an improvement because its been a while since someone really complimented my clothes so I know Im headed in the right diection.

In other words he made you look gay.

I have a couple of shirts I bought in Spain that I never wear. Out of the blue I wore them to work and I got compliments. The shirts are thin and tapered. Not tight, but fitted. I had a few guys (straight ones) ask me where I got the shirts. I smiled and said Madrid knowing they couldn't go out and buy them.
