Mavsluva Update
Hey folks,
First and foremost, thanks to all of you that shared some kind words in my "Goodbye" thread the other day. That was a pretty awesome read when I saw it last night. I really needed to hear some of that because of what I'm about to tell you.
Unfortunately, the girl who was to give birth to our adopted child had a miscarriage so that brings an end to our adoption journey for the time being. We're both doing well (including the birth mother) and we'll give it a go again sometime in the future.
Thanks again for your kind words and kind hearts.
Grace and Peace,
Mavsluva

Thanks folks. It's a humbling experience, but I'm going to make the most of it. Tough times gives us the opportunity to learn a lot about ourselves.

No biggie, Justin.
Thanks again to all that have chimed in. I think the hardest part is knowing that we have TONS of baby items upstairs in the baby's room that we purchased over the past two weeks in an attempt to prepare for this adoption. To see it go all down the drain so quickly is really something. We got the call about 2-3 weeks ago about the adoption and then 2-3 weeks later it's back to step one. A roller coaster of emotions to say the least.

You have my sincere condolences Mavs. That's a tough break. I have no doubt that you and your wife will make great parents - I hope it's sooner rather than later.
Best wishes!!

Oh man Pooks, that was hilarious (regarding the "whipped" comment)!
Actually, my wife and I have the greatest relationship. We have a really good balance in our lives and she and I completely respect each others wants and needs. I really can come and go as I please and she can do the same all because of the trust and dedication that we have for each other. I'm a pretty tame individual (imagine that!) to begin with, so there's no need for her to have me on a leash.
But to address your question....You bet I still hang out with my buddies and believe it or not, we do lots of guy things when we're together. The church and my religious beliefs have not emasculated me at all. I think you'd be pretty amazed at just how adventurous I really am. Heck, my wife wants me to get a motorcycle, but I refuse to do so. Motorcycles and Dallas area traffic are like water and oil in that they just don't mix!
