    Help me out former/current PT's

So, Ive finally got around to getting ACE Certified soon. My goal is to move to the KC area and start working as a PT by Dec/Jan. However I dont have a college degree and im not sure if I ever will.

im worried that because I dont have a degree I wont get hired. Im also worried that if I worked full time, I still wont make enough to live in that area.

So if you've already been in my future shoes, let me know what to expect. even if you havent or know someone who has chime in.....

MFT 81. I'm thinking of picking up a PT certification. Any particular reason you decided on ACE?

Where I live, the competition for entry lvl training jobs isn't very intense and a college degree isn't required, althougth it helps. The real money is in management and I think not having a college degree could hold you back in that respect. Of course, I dont live in a huge city, so there aren't any trainers here pulling in big money. In a City the size of KC, I imagine the top few trainers do pretty well.

I used to be a pt and also a pt director.

I college degree isn't going to hold you back. Making a real living working as a pt in a gym is hard. Most that do well do in home training or have their own place.

Give me a pm i will give you a couple ideas on how to get your foot in the door for home training.

    Hey, BIG thanks Gixxer,

my plan was to do the whole golds/24 hr for a year if I can stand it, I have a good Idea that your pretty much like a used car salesman in that arena, but i figured it would give me the basics and a good place to test the waters.

later on id love to work out of someones privately owned gym and pay rent to use there place after I have a small clientel.

no idea how one could do home training though, deff have to shoot you a pm when the time comes.

anyone else have any tips or tricks to get me started????
