Just curious if its my character flaw or what? My gf is 28 and im almost 38. I feel like im always getting on her because she is irresposnsibe. she makes it seem like i am always telling her what she is doing wrong, but i am just trying to help her because i care about her! wtf? I feel like i just cant do it anymore because im not really happy this way. is it always gonna be like this in your guys opinion or should i try to stick it out?

Doesn't sound like its going to work. You guys are just at different points in your life. People have to make their own mistakes. It would bother me if some kept telling me i was wrong. Even if they meant well.

Well my brothers 30 and dating a 23 year old (which I dont 100% agree with but they are happy together so I can't not be happy for them)
In your case I think its suffice to say age really isnt the issue.
Because I personally dont believe shes irresponsible BECAUSE shes 28 but shes irresponsbile BECAUSE shes IRRESPONSIBLE.
She was prob like that when she was 18 and will prob be like that when she's 68. Some people never change. But I do believe the AGE really isnt the deal breaker here, I think its just her personality and who she is. If shes been like that for a few years chances are she's not going to change (or at least anytime in the near future) so if you cant deal with that the next logical step would be to moveon and find someone more compatable and more responsible.

My Latina is 14 years younger and she's more responsible than I am. LoL. Hey, just keeping it real! LoL. Stick with her if you love her. Communicate the general problem in a caring way and then come to a common agreement about the particulars and see if she follows through.

people are who people are, you cant change them.at the most u might be able to get a certain behavior out of them but changing a persons character is never going to happen.i believe responsibility falls into that category(of a persons character) and u have to decide if its something u can handle if it never changes cause it most likely wont.
