    Testing at work

Most companies will test for illegal substances, we know this, they re illegal. But, what if you went to Amsterdam where smoking certain things are not? You come back from vacation and they test you. Can they fire you for indulging while in a country where its legal to do so? Hasnt happened to me but this was something i woke up in the middle of the night with this in my head.

fired. the city where i worked, drug tested... pre-employment, random and if involved in a accident. we lost a lot of good employees over failing screens. we also had employees get thier job back with good lawyers....yes, they had drugs in their system, one, was the drug testing company misspelled the drug on the form. one got off because of the wrong time was posted, by 10 minutes. i got the sure way system for passing drug screens....passed them thru out my career.....want to know how? simple...dont do drugs

Therein lay the big debate about companies whos policy it is to drug test their employees. Firing an employee because they test positive for certain substances, is to an extent intruding on their personal lives. The drug tests can make no assertion as to whether the employee was actually under the influence of the drug while at work, only that it was in their system within X amount of time. I guess the companies would rather not have people who break the law working for them.

    Im against it personally.

Ya i figured as much. And true if you can afford the attorney you probably could beat itm but you would be under the microscope at your work from now on. I did claim once "passive use instead of Active use" told them i was at a party where w**d was smoked they couldnt prove my use. I would also like to thank CSI miami for that defense.

close to same question. If you live in a blue law state but drive across to another state sunday morn b4 football on sunday, can you bring it back--and can the cops do anything about it? just a ? By the way how stupid are blue laws? You can buy alcohol all week but not on Sunday. only boosts sales Sat nite i guess.
