Hey man, I think you aussies are about two or three episodes behind but yes, Season 3.
Like all the finales so far you will have a ton of new questions to ask. I dont think this is really a spoiler but will give you food for thought but the flashback for the last episode is actually a flashforward and takes place in the future.

I would like to discuss the finale more...should I? You DO have a SPOILER warning right? lemme know, I love the show and would like to see what are your takes
-
Well, I will assume anyone reading this thread has seen the finale:
I think the finale was great (in and of itself) but the implications dont bode well for the series.
1. The flashforward takes the suspense out of knowing whether the losties make it off the island..which they do obviously (well, at least jack and kate)
2. The fact that the island is now no longer shielded from the outside world, that enigma of being truly "lost" is gone

Well I think Naomi works for the Dharma initiative and I think thats the ship thats 80 miles off shore. Since Ben and the Island "natives" killed everyone there many years ago, Dharma has been unable to re-find the island until now and Season 4 will be about the Others and the Losties coming together to fight a common foe.
I know what you mean about how the series is really changing direction now but the producers have stated that there will be 6 seasons in total and you have to admit, each season has been radically different from the last. But hopefully Season 4 will explore who Jacob is.
As for the flashforward, I dont know what to make of it. I mean Jacks life is a mess since getting home but was that really the future? I mean for one Jack (at least) believes his Dad is alive and how far in the future is it? How did he explain returning to the real world and why do people recognise Jack for being a hero instead of a plane crash survivor. And how is Kate seemingly free to roam N.America if she's a fugitive (unless Sawyer set them up with an alternative life?)
Arrrrgh!! Too many questions! But im a Lost addict and Feb 2008 seems too long away!

Man i hadnt watched tv in years before my sister bought the dvd season one and told me lets watch it, i was gonna watch an episode then go out with my friends, but after watching one episode i said lets watch the second...then when the second one finished i called my friends and told them i wasnt coming anymore, and we must have watched the entire first season with only short one hour nap breaks every now and then......I was so excited because i thought this was the whole show!
Then John Lock blows up the hatch and hey!! the end of the season!! I was like WTF there is more?? i cant stop watching! I cant!!
So we run out to the video store the next day and driving around like crazy and we found one last season two pack!! So naturally i thought this was the last season because there wasnt a season three pack behind it, and once again it was snacks, pillows and stuck to the tv for the entire season two!!
After season two ended and we found out there was season 3..and that it was just being released at the time on tv i couldnt keep up with it so i had to take time off...i felt betrayed by the show...and that i wouldnt come back to it...but now season 3 is over and i'm still on the last 3 episodes, and its pretty much the best tv show i have ever seen ever ever!! I just wish they had released the whole thing faster! its just awesome!
It kicks prison breaks butt!

The future scenes w/ Jack and Kate didn't make a whole lot of sense...
1) Whose funeral did Jack attend?
2) Why did Jack tell the other doctor to get his father - isn't Jack's father dead?
3) What is Locke's connection with the island and how does he know that they "weren't supposed to do this" (i.e., using Naomi's phone to contact the ship). Is he going to go back and try to talk w/ Jacob?
4) Is Sun going to die in a few months because of her pregnancy (I hope not, 'cause she looked really hot in her bikini in season one)?
5) Will Sawyer locate some more of that Dharma Initiative light beer?
I agree with Flagg about the Dharma initiative being the group on the ship. They're gonna come back and assume the survivors of the plane crash are part of the "Others", so for the time being everyone will have to band together in order to survive. After that??????

I'm not a fan of TV but I did like the show for a couple seasons and then I just found it repetitive. I also like looking at Evangeline Lilly.

Yeah im not sure if im gonna like the flashforwards or not. Maybe the flashforwards have something to do with Desmond.
For some reason I thought the man in the coffin might actually be Ben.
I dont think Christian Shepherd is dead, infact im sure Jack and Clare are being set up to find out they are brother and sister.
And whats with Richard not aging? I think the Island is some sort of Utopia that not only heals illnesses and wounds but extends life.
AND how did the REAL Sawyer/Lockes Dad end up on the island?
So many questions..

Is anyone watching SEASON 4?
What did they make of the first two episodes?

I'm a Lostie, I must admit. Show is awesome. It was much easier to watch when I could just watch the whole thing on DVD. Now I have to wait a week between cliff hangers which sucks.
As far as the flash forwards, my brother had a theory that Christian Sheppard is alive. He wasn't found in the coffin, and if you look in the episode where Hurley stumbles onto the cabin, it looks like Christian sitting in the rocker. When Jack saw his father, it could have been a set up by the others. Possibly paralyzed by the spiders (from the Nikki and Palo episode that seemed like it didn't belong, but probably had some significance). So man questions. Kate is hot, I wanna tap it.

Yes it was definitely Christian Shepherd in Jacobs cabin. So he faked his own death in Sydney? Ben is by far the most interesting character in the show, he seems to know about everyone. Except the Monster which I think is the one true pure mystery that no1 knows about. And DAMN Kate is so hot. She's dating the guy that played/plays Charlie.

I thought they broke up when his character got killed off the show? Here I thought I was in...I'm so anxious to see how they plan on ending the show. I guess the writers deny that the whole thing is the characters in pergatory, coma, or parallel universe. Too many mysteries to keep up with...

I used to be a huge LOST fan, but after this little hiatus they put us through I kinda lost interest. Don't get me worng, I still watch the show every week, but now I'm just "casual" viewer. Whereas before I was into every little detail and found the secrets that the writers would slip in for the more astute/nerdy viewers.

I havent watched the first two weeks but I plan to catch up on them before tomorrow nights show. I was WAY more into the show for the first two seasons. The third season was too slow for my attention span that is shorter than a birds.
