My family is from England and gowing up a Pig in a Blanket was a sausage wrapped in home made pastry (like a pie crust), no cheese though, so I guess my interpretation is a combination of everyone elses!!

It's supposed to be hard! If it was easy, everyone would do it! It's the "hard" that makes it great!
