Air Force Question

They're saying that i'm going to have to wait until September at the earliest before I can leave for boot camp for CCT. Another option would possibly be to take another job like Intel or Security Forces, and then take the SpecOps pass test AT basic, which would mean I could leave ASAP since they always need more MPs and Intel, but then I could still get the CCT job I want if I pass the test. Does anybody here know if that will work?

If you really want cct, just wait until september. Get it in your contract that you are specifically trying out for cct. I know you can do that, I don't know what job they give you if you wash out (probably atc) but this way you know you will at least get a shot. Originally I was going to join the AF to be cct as well and they gave me the same line...wait until basic when you'll be given the past test and then you'll have your shot. I like sure things, especially when it comes to recruiters and the military. These guys don't give a rat's ass what happens to you after you ship. Maybe you get the opportunity, maybe you don't, doesn't really matter to them. Just wait man, September is right around the corner anyway.

PAST test isnt guaranteed in basic, they give it if they need to fill slots. My friend just called me from basic. He went in security forces and is hoping to go SERE. He passed the PAST test but like you said, he would have had to wait til the fall to get it guaranteed. I hope he gets it, but I would have waited. More time to get in shape anyway.

do not go in without the guarentee job slot, they are waiting to fill the class..

September is only 3 months away-time you can spend getting in to even better shape-be patient it will be here before you know it.
I had the privledge of working with several members of USAF Special Tactics Teams they are excellent!
