How many lift with a belt?
Well the question is pretty self explanitory. I bought a belt yesterday and did my back day with it and my dead lifts went up 90 pounds.... uhhh mabye i should have gotten this sooner?
I have only used it for my back day, but i think im going to incoperate it in all my training days, i have a feeling this belt could help a lot with shoulder presses with no back support and incline DB's on chest day when i really ark my back on those last couple reps to get the weight up.
so is a 90 pound increase rediculous? or whats the deal? is the belt really giving me an advantage and taking away from gains? or is it wokin in my favor?

When I finally got my inzer HC lever belt my lifts went way up too. As far as incorporating it into your training on other days, I think it's a good idea for the heavy sets and its not going to make your lower back any weaker (erector spinae muscles that is), it will just keep your a**ominal cavity compressed to eliminate all chances of a hernia...pretty genius right?

i use my belt for squats, deadlifts, and press movements for the shoulders

i stopped using it completely a few years ago, i think it takes away a little bit from the erectors being strengthened and such. its definately safer tho.

well 12 only use my belt for sets that i go very heavy on, like 3 reps or lower, other then that i can keep good form for the whole set, but if i can only do 3 reps of a weight i throw the belt on because my form my sacrifice thus causing injury

All i know is, for me, the belt is a crutch for deads and squats......THe other day, i tried squatting without a belt cuz i didnt bring it, and what is 5-6 reps for me, was a failed attempt on rep number one

I wore a belt when my back was weaker. I dont squat as much as I used to, but Im catching up.

I have a tendency to bend my back too much so I use the belt to keep good form. Didn't see any increase in lifting but I don't like wearing it too tight since for heavy deads I inhale like a rhino... the belt kind of bothers my breathing.

Had back problems in the past. So I use the belt for squats and deads on the final heavier sets.

I wont use one till i go really heavy (last set or two).

I haven't used a belt, knee wrap, or wrist staps in over 10 years. I just don't kill myself like I used to.
