Yeah, my lady just got into it a couple months back. Before it was like "I dont like sweating" I keep encouraging her so she doesnt quit. Only a little over 2 months and you can see a huge difference musclewise.

i feel like your in the worst situation possible. idealy you would have a girl that shared your passion. on the other hand, some ppl like using gym to have some space from their significant other. but you have neither. your girl doesnt share your interests yet she is still there to monitor you in case you admire any other "equipment" at the gym. you have my sympathy brother lol

lol..thats funny!
my wife was the same way, we went to a bodybuilding show (her first), and she became instantly motivated. she wanted to look like the figure competitors on stage. literally the next day, she was counting calories and doing cardio and weight training. she's a 100% now and even helps me out on my diet by cooking and preparing foods we can now eat together. before we never ate together because she ate so differently than I.
Somehow get her motivated, it may take time....get her exposed to the lifestyle and it should stick if she has a good work ethic (because it's not easy). and remember, this isn't for everyone. she may never be as hardcore as you or I, but she needs to make it fit her life, needs, and goals. just my 2 cents. good luck bro! peace

i sometime get annoyed when she is there and wants to talk and i am there training and talking to my friends, and she gets mad when random girls talk to me, but i guess i really should be lucky....i wish i could offer advice here bro but maybe try a all womens gym for her or get her into it with a friend of hers, it can be kinda intimidating for her to try and train with ya...

I agree the gym is my time and at first my girl used to try and kiss and i was like...umm no fuc*ing way am i that guy at the gym...now i dont mind that she is there and i do talk to her, but if i am in the middle of something or on my to something she knows i am busy and its my time...the only thing that really still gets me is she will come up and be like " are you done yet, and if not then when"...now she takes her own car and come about 30 mins after me so we leave close to the same time now....

Working out is your pride and your passion. It's very likely that her pride and passion lie's in something else. And honestly, her pride and passion could reside in just being with you, so you might want to give her at least some credit.
If you expect her to workout, then you're probably sending the wrong message to her. That'll leave her thinking that you're not satisfied with her current physical appearance. Most, if not all, women do want to improve their appearance in some form or fashion. But since their passion and pride often falls in something else, their sense of urgency is not quite as high as you'd like it to be.
Question: Has she ever really wanted you to do something with her (either once or on a regular basis) that you have refused? Why did you refuse it? Did it possibly conflict with your pride and your passion (working out)?

My wife does the same sh!t. It's a good thing I love'er to death or I would leave her for it. Not a chance though, she's great. That said, she is the type that will work out for 2 weeks and take 4 off. She's getting know where with that attitude.

its funny cause im only 7+ months in of hardcore diet and training (i was hardcore in my late teens and early 20's) and its been a journey to say the least. the funniest part of it all is when i started everyone including my wife was "wow that diet is really harsh, boring, how can u do it?, etc...".after about 2 months and me losing 20 or so lbs of flab everone was "wow tell me a lttle more about ur diet" at this point my wife jumped on and she's been faithful to the diet ever since.at 3 months half of my family came to me and they r all on my diet (or a version of it)now! anyway my wife does her cardio everyday and aerobics as well and thats all i care about as im not into overly muscular women. the gym is for me and my i-pod and thats it, its my time away and thats how it is. odviously u see theres more to life than the gym and u r ok with u and ur girls relationship, i think sometimes being too much alike is a bigger problem than not being enough alike.

SPG, my girl was the same way as far as not getting into the whole workout thing when we first met.......about 4yrs ago. as the relationship progressed she got better about trying to do some training, mostly cardio and pilates(at home) but her eating was still garbage....lucky for her she has the metabolism to support her habits.(she is only about 95-100lbs) i tried to help her at home with some routines but she always took offense when i tried to get her to work on a certain bodypart (butt/legs/arms...the usual!)anyway, i finally just let her do her own thing and now she is eating better and always looking at caloric content and macros......now if we can just get her to do some squats....!

hahah yeah, that post i made up there^^^^^ i was pissed as hell then, i needed her to release some..testosterone and she wouldnt.
but now its all good i guess haha.
but yeah shes getting more into it, i dont have to drag her along anymore, she likes the ellipticals and air dyne, she tries to speed rope with me but cant hang..
i guess at first you got to let them do stuff they want, then they finally come around asking for your help.

I tried going to the gym with my wife. She would get done with her cardio and then try and rush me to finish. She'd even go sit in the car and wait. I thought it would a be a great way to spend time together. It didn't really work out too well. Now I go to a different gym altogether. She still goes like twice a week. Now she's swimming laps in the pool which I guess is ok. I registered her here on the board thinking she would do some reading and get motivated but she still spends most of her time on MySpace. I get really tired of hearing how fat she's getting and then watch her eat chinese food.
