Buff's brain surgery!

Hey everyone! This is "L", Buff's girlfriend. 1buffsob asked me to post this so his friends would know he's ok. The surgery went great and he's recovering wonderfully. They got all the tumor out and tests confirmed it wasn't cancerous. He hasn't come home yet but the doctors say he'll be able to very soon. Here's a message he wrote before he went in and wanted me to post it when he got out:

Dear Friends,

I've been sick these last few months. Haven't been able to eat or train much. Weight has been dropping steadily. My girl finally made me go to a doc the end of june. After lots of tests, a CT scan reveiled a brain tumor. The docs think it is malignant, but not the cancerous kind. Meaning it is composed of non-cancerous or "benign" cells, but it's location is life threatening.

I didn't want to worry anyone so I didn't tell anyone. Sorry if that pisses you off. haha. Anyway, surgery is scheduled for July 10th. I'm confident everything will go alright. The tumor appears small and thankfully isn't located too deep or in any gray matter.

I made "L" promise to post up this letter along with my results as I probably won't be using a computer any time soon. Hopefully I lived. Lol. Anyway, I'm sure I'll be back to my normal self soon enough. "L" will have my phone so any calls or texts are welcome.

Hey fellows.

Well, I'm alive and kicking. The surgery went well and I'm back to my old self..... More or less. Thank you all for all your prayers and support.
I would of given you guys some warning but I didn't want to worry anyone. Also, I was in a bit of denial about the whole thing. It wasn't until the day before the surgery that the reality hit me. Lol.

The tumor was called a "meningioma" or something like that. They put a small whole in the back of my head to get to it. The docs think they got all of it. I feel great compared to how I was feeling so I have high hopes that they did. I've been able to eat real meals again and my weight is steadily climbing. I'm much smaller and fatter now than what I was. Too afraid to step on the scale though. haha.

Anyway, what did I miss?

The doc says at least 3-4 weeks post-op before I can get back in the gym. But today is the end of week 2. I think that's good enough. "L" on the other hand might kill me. Haha

That's what the docs said. Apparently they have "definate borders" or whatever the hell that means, and they almost are always able to remove it in one surgery. I consider myself lucky. This was just a small bump in the road and should have any long term effect on my life.

A quick funny story though. Just to mess with the family when they came to see me in the recovery room after the surgery, I stared off into space with my mouth open drooling all over myself. Kind of like Jack Nicholson in "One flew over the cookoos nest." I thought it was funny as hell. "L" hit me promptly in the nuts. LOL
