I've been seeing doctors/psychs my entire life (up untill a couple years ago) and I've NEVER not ONCE got any med 'tripled'.

*Especially a pain med.
There are millions of reasons why, that they are taught in medical school.
They can double it (ie: 5mg oxy to 10) but they will NEVER triple it unless you are weeks away from death from a debilitating and painful disease.

*Especially a pain med.
There are millions of reasons why, that they are taught in medical school.
They can double it (ie: 5mg oxy to 10) but they will NEVER triple it unless you are weeks away from death from a debilitating and painful disease.

I could see situations in which certain pain meds could be tripled, such as if she were being way undertreated previously and her MRI showed some herniation, but i suspect she means something else:

maybe she was given a higher frequency for PRN (as needed) use...

I dont usually post in here, but i felt the need to chime in: They may very well do that if they script you say, product x containing 5mg active ingredient and the next highest dosage is 15mg.

I dont usually post in here, but i felt the need to chime in: They may very well do that if they script you say, product x containing 5mg active ingredient and the next highest dosage is 15mg.

I think he was thinking I was on a hardcore pain med, but they took me off of the narcotics because they didn't want me to get addicted and my doctor wants to refer me to a pain clinic for narcotics, pending the results of my rheumatoid arthritis testing.

when you have chronic pain, they do what they have to. please keep in mind that i can't even work in an office where i have to sit in a chair for more than a few hours because of the pain it causes.

yeah, Inderal is the brand; it's used for a bajillion things; for migraines it actually is used to inhibit migraine-related vasodilation.

for anxiety, it blocks a lot of the "fight or flight" symptoms such as tremor, feelings of choking or breathlessness. and when those panicky symptoms are under control, it makes the attack more endurable.
