I just had an interesting exchange of texts with a member here, apparently he just found out that I had gastric bypass surgery. Its no secret that I have had it...my first post and thread on this site was exactly about that. I don't talk about it on a daily basis because it plays no part in my fit and healthy lifestyle now. I had it done Feb. 2007 in case anyone is interested.....

Something that makes me laugh is when I see these built up muscle guys at the gym listing like over 200 lbs in a flat bench dumbbells press and instead of just laying down they bring up there back in a way that it ends up looking like an arch. Or when they are doing there seated cable rows and instead of having there back in a right angle they are always at a 180 degree angle while lifting... talk about not doing it right... oh but they have to show off that they can lift over 200 lbs lmfao.

Arching your back during bench presses actually allows you to hit your chest MUCH better than having a flat back, if done properly.
And on seated rows I find with some movement I can hit my back much better than staying still too.

Yeah it's hard to explain, but you want you ass and lower back on the bench, but then I arch middle/upper back so that your shoulder blades are the next point of contact, for me it takes the stress off the shoulder joints and puts it all in the tit muscles.
