    Quik question...

I'm sure this has been brought up many times, but I'll ask anyway... What program do you use to burn DVDs? Once I convert the AVI file to DVD format I use Nero to burn on to DVD but the movie always ends up "jumpy" and I get all this disturbance on my screen.

What other programs can I use apart from Nero?

    Thanx.

I use nero. I don't think that is your problem. It just controls the drive and burns the data to the disc. I bet it is your conversion software. You probably need to change some settings. Use a software DVD player to play the DVD from the hard drive before you burn it to make sure it looks good. I bet if you view the DVD on your hard drive it does the same thing as when you burned it.

What are you using to convert the file? I use Sonic Mydvd for that myself.

    sonnygll,

    Thanx for your response.

I use WinAVIVideoConverter. I convert the AVI file to DVD using this program then use Nero to burn onto DVD. Perhaps it's WinAVI that's the problem. Do you know anything about this program? Or have you head any negative comments about it?

Anyway, I'll change to a different conversion software and see how I go then.

    Thanx again.

    Hey Gear:
When I need good software and don't know what brand to get I go to http://www.twocows.com

Just do a search for the type of software you want, i.e. audio rip. They have freeware, shareware and full versions. Plus there are ratings by previous users to tell you if it sucks or not. LOL
I just downloaded some freeware to convert DVD to mpg for upload to youtube...
    BTW you are the Man!!!

There are MANY programs out there but you might also ask yourself how good your DVD-buner is or even your computer at that. Trying to burn DVD's on old pcs with a lot running in the background is never a good thing. I personally think plexors kick a$$. They might cost a couple bucks more but well worth it.

Of course i would first try programs before i hand out cash for new hardware.
