i got hired with my tatts. the ones that show in short sleeve are marine corp tatts, one on forearm and the other inside fore arm. the fire chief, who hired me, was a former marine, so i got in. in january, i will go position hunting....and for a no-labor, upper managent, high paying, low office skilled, no dealing with people, no drug sceening, no week ends, no holiays, no nights job. hope my tatts dont conflict with there company policy.

when i joined in the UK the script across the board was no visible tattoos while in underss uniform.
i have none at all so it made no difference.
There was a guy who was going through the process the same time as me who had sleeved arms and they didnt say anythign to him.
I know this is the UK but i think it is generally who you apply for and wether they like you or not
The brigade i got in to had a no visible tat policy, i was told in my interview that it is not acceptable. Then on my recruits course there were 3 long serving instructors who had tats on their arms, one who was in teh navy had a naked woman, you know the type. I though yeah that looks goo dgoing to schools talking to kids etc.
The policy now is if it is not racist or or along the lines of offending certain groups etc, then it is ok.
I have since found out that religious and cultural tattos are ok just aslong as they are not on yoru face or may offend people.
What if i was a Maori then????
That question is still to be answered.
so if it is anything like it is in the UK, you should be ok.

There was a fireman that came into my work the other day who had sleeves.
My guess is it would depend on the region or the department.

I think in these days of litigation you would have grounds for discrimination if they tried to pull any bullshit over tatts
