Ok, im no expert at configuring MS and have very little experience in Mac.
I have been having trouble with syncing my iPod with my version of iTunes on XP Home.
I solved the problem through many hours of messign (installing removing and re-installing iTunes iPod updater etc) around and to help save you guys who may be having a similar problem a bit of time. I tried everything linked to the relevent web pages and had no joy at all. The only idea was to Un-install and reintall, which i knew was not the problem.
I know now how simple the problem it is but to those who may be in a similar problem here is how i did my trouble shooting.

I had a probem with the Hard disk, it was a higher letter (E: )than the iPod (C: ). IF YOU HAVE THIS YOU CAN CHANGE IT BY THE FOLLOWING, IF NOT SKIP THE FIRST STAGE.

FIRSTLY,
I opened the disk manager to change this and allocate the iPod with a higher drive letter, i found that it will effect the start up of the iPod with iTunes if it is lower than the HDD of the PC.
you can locate your disk manager by clicking (start) - (control panel) - (Administrative tools) - (Computer Managment) - (storage) - (disk managment local) - right click on the icon that represents your iPod then select, change drive letter and paths. Allocate the iPod with a higher letter than the Hard disk drive.

SECONDLY,
i removed the iPod from the system library, go to the Computer manager and under storage, (removable storage) - (libraries) right click the iPod icon and select eject.

Next time i connected my iPod it was recognised straight away and i coudl sync it with no problems.

Any guys who know more about this are welcome to comment on what actions i took.
Wrong or not i dont care coz i can update my music now!!!!! lol
