New CTS looks pretty good, but it wouldn't be among my top choices.

Reliability of an '04 3 series is pretty high. I had a 330cci. Look for a CPO. Probably many '05 units at the dealership coming off 3 year leases, at this point. Maintenance was included for 4/50 so it should have been maintained (oil changes, brakes, wiper blades).

I've had 4 BMWs altogether and do not have one at the moment. I miss the product everytime I'm in a corner. Highly recommended. Highly addictive.

This is a car you would lease. Not buy.

If you are talking investing and making sense.

As someone else said make sure its a certified pre owned buy from a dealer otherwise they could easily change the, dunno the name of it, the thing that shows how many miles you have driven. make sure the car havnt been own by to many ppl and if they say they have renovated the car or anything you always want a receipt for that.
One more thing, i dont know if this applies to the US, but here in sweden you should never buy an imported car, coz u always end up getting screwed by the seller and insurance company.

    good luck
It was every 70k miles and this has not been an issue for at least 15 years.
