What affects vascularity on a day to day basis?

I was not sure what forum to put this in so I threw it in here. I love vascularity. Now that I am cutting down my veins are starting to appear. The thing is for instance yesterday they where really showing, and looked fantastic. Now today I can hardly get them to show at all. What do we do on a day to day basis that makes them allot more noticable sometimes vs other times?

I thought that sodium caused water rettention, thus hiding the veins.

SODIUM like they've already mentioned....that's why guys that compete try so hard to "dry out" because water is the ENEMY when it comes to showing vascularity and definition

While this is true, sodium actually makes your veins pop out (high blood pressure from increased sodium intake). Also arginine is a mild vasodilator, as well as alcohols. Vascularity has to do with body fat and blood pressure, nothing more, nothing less.

This friday will be week 5, im down from 285 to 270. I think I am making good progress though. I dropped to 278 the first week. Then exactly 2 pounds per week since. First few weeks where discouraging, its like I lost my muscle fullness, but no signs of fat loss. Now I am looking different, muscles taking shape, veins coming out. I will post some pics as soon as I can get my wife to shave me.

I think that I might need to bump my intake a bit. I am mostly eating rice, with oats and yams thrown in here and there. I find it hard to get the balance of getting the muscle full, but not taking in to much.

another factor is your temp. if your hot, your veins will show cause they are coming to the surface of the skin bringing blood to be cooled off. and vice versa.
