Cops matched fingerprints to our burglar...

So I get a call from a detective today saying that they found a match on fingerprints for our burglary that happened 10 months ago. They gave me a name and asked if I knew him, I said no, they wanted to make sure he wasn't a prior roommate or anything. Apparently he has a prior record (surprise surprise).

So they're going to run some paperwork over that I have to fill out or something (probably asking if I want to press charges) and then they're going to go apprehend this fine human being. They said he used to live down the street from me.

I'm glad they found out who the bastard is. I kind of want to go knocking on doors down the street til I find him and make sure he goes to court in a wheelchair. I'll definitely be at his court date with a big smile on my face. If they ask me to testify, is it legally punishable if you say vulgar things to the defendant?

it's always nice to see people like that in jumpers. It'll be sweet revenge

try to refrain yourself as much as possible...but don't verbally or physically threaten him, or you could end up in court also. A good smile and a wink does more to aggrivate them then threatening to beat thier ass.

    Must feel nice now though.

if your talkin about saying vulgar stuff from the stand its not explicetly illegal I dont believe or "legally punishable" but I think they can throw you in jail for contempt.... I could be wrong..... anyone else? On a side note It would be funny as hell hearing you call him a jack ass and shit from the stand ...

as long as you don't threaten hiom or the court you should be fine making a quick comment. Be aware that as soon as they realize what you're saying they'll order you to shut up and if you don't, it could be contempt though it would be unlikely unless you reallly were pushing it... a quick 1 liner like you mentioned.. "I hope you get your asshole ripped in prison" should be quick and to the point enough

Being that this is America, he will most likely get some light ass sentence. And if by some miracle he actually gets hard time, the tax payers get to pay for his nice comfortable stay.

    It's a lose, lose situation.

It's about time they start executing these ****ing scumbags, then it is a win, win for us.

actually, you would not want to identify yourself in anyway as being anything other than a poor victim, but that you will someday find it in your heart to forgive this person, but that you also hoped that someday you would be able to feel safe in your own home..

wait 6 months.. and then go find the guy..

    get it??

In Minnesota, last year we passed a law allowing the use of a gun on a person in your yard that was stealing your personal property..

    I love liberals..

Here in Colorado we have "Make my day law." Which states if someone breaks in your residence you can use deadly force on them and you CAN NOT be prosecuted for murder, assualt, etc...
It's been used a shit ton here, I love it.
