    Iphone

Anyone know if it is possible to purchase the Iphone and not activate it? Bascially just using it as an Ipod touch but with mail, camera, etc. The ipod touch is 299 so for 100 bucks more I would get better features just without using it as a cell, which I don't need. Carlos where you at? Anyone? Thanks

Yea your right, but I like the camera and email that the Iphone has. That does not come with the itouch. Just want to use the phone basically for everything else but calls, plus I hate A&T, and I am in contract with Tmobile til 2009!!!

You can probably get it right at the Apple store but you may have to pay a little more w/o getting the new activation money off.

I have the 16GB iTouch. No need for the phone as I use Verizon.

You can "Jailbreak" your iTouch and have all the features of the iPhone minus the telephone.

Exactly. Get the iPod touch, jailbreak it and install the iPhone's mail app on it.

No discount. It's $399 no matter if you activate it or not.

Nice, still missing the camera though. Not a big deal, but it would be nice, I have used it and it is pretty good!! I have heard you can get the phone and activate it as prepaid, then cancel it within 14 days and the everything on the phone will work, just not the phone. Not sure if this is true.

You have got to downgrade your iTouch to v1.1.1 in order to Jailbreak it. All iTouch's come with v1.1.1 but when you synch it to iTunes it downloads v1.1.2
