Excellent video on refusing police searches
Check this out...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqMjMPlXzdA&feature=user
Its pretty long but very informative. It covers the three most important lines you have to keep in mind when getting hassled by police
"Officer, I do not consent to any searches"
"Officer, am I free to go or are you detaining me?"
"I have nothing to say until I speak with my lawyer"
Heres a couple of minute long clips if you don't want to watch the whole thing

great video budd, I hate some cops, have had some bad experiences with them. I've been pulled over and searched in the middle of the street for no reason.

Fukk I hope that guy got fired. Its not like we all drive around with our license and registration sitting on our lap, ready to hand it to the officer in 2 seconds... "Heres my paperwork sir, I keep it on my lap.. oh my god I dropped it HURRY UP OH SHIT IM GETTING TAZED!!!"

That happened when i was 19yrs, I had no idea what my rights were back then. I was just embarrassed in the middle of the street and my car was torn apart. And when they were done and found out that I was the wrong guy they didn't say sorry, just "Get the hell out of here, you shouldn't be drivin around here!"
What idiots.

yup happend to me all of the time also but i was younger around 17. they would pull me over for no reason, make us get out of the car. he would search it, since they could never get me on any thing they always said i looked suspicious and told me to leave. i think it was because i was a teenager with a mustang and they had nothing else better to do

i am willing to bet that the police chief recommended his fireing. I hope that guy sued the shit out of the city for that. If you did some research I bet you could find out.

these videos helped me get out of a search in Utah....took a road trip and actually got pulled over...my dad was a cop, so he always told me what to say and what my rights were, but he's full of shit half the time lol.... i refered to the video on the side of the road......this is the trick the cop tried using on me nearly word for word:
Officer: "so whose car is this- yours right? you mind if i take a look inside"
Me: "umm- you don't have any probably cause, so no officer you cannot search my car"
Officer: "i don't need probable cause"
Me: "you dont need probably cause to search my car?"
Officer: " i don't need probably cause to ASK you...."
Me: "well the answer is still no officer, am i free to go?"
