Just found out my dad has cancer

    Hey guys,

So i just found out my dad has cancer, melanoma. apparently it is pretty deep. Compounding this problem is the fact that his dad is on his deathbed and he went out of town to be with him. Now we dont know when hes going to be back and we have to break the news of him having cancer after potentially seeing his father die.

Pretty troubling news, I dont really have a reaction at this point but I'm hoping for the best.

    Thanks for listening.

That's bad news; my thoughts are with you.
Hopefully the surgeons will be able to cut out the cancer in time . . .

Deep or not, he stands a good chance of making out of this with melanoma.
Be positive and do not let your mind wonder with "what if's".

Hey man, my dad battled with the fastest form of prostate cancer a few years ago, hes a fighter and so is everyone around him, he is doin ok now.. With melatona I woulndt be too worried, usually that type avoids organs etc meaning it can be treated better!!! Wish him the best!!

Hey man, my prayers and thoughts are with you.

I know you are in shock and I would be too but the best advise I can give is to have a game plan. I would not give up but would go on the offensive and do whatever I could to make your father a healthier person and to ensure that the treatments work for him.

We are here for you man, anything we can do?

Again, huge thanks for all of you and your heartfelt comments. My dad is going to a specialist tomorrow to get more information about it, and to find out whether or not the cancer has spread to any vital organs.

UPDATE: my grandfather just passed away about half an hour ago. He was in a coma. He had been suffering from Alzheimers for several years.

Its for the best though, he is no longer suffering.
