    fixing a dishwasher

    The little door that the detergent goes into isn't opening while the machine runs. So the detergent doesn't come out and my dishes look like hell. Is there a way to adjust it or fix it? I can open it manually with my hand to fill it but its not releasing while in use.

    what brand is it? I had tha same problem with mine I think it is a whirlpool or maytag. The repair man just had to take out the detergent unit and behind it there was a connection that was loose it was like plugging two cords together and its been fine since. hope this helps

    how you gonna fix that dishwasher when your postin threads lol. I am at work right now or I would look at mine and try to figure out how it comes out too. the guy said he new what the problem was before he even saw it from what I told him on the phone and it was doing exactly what yours is

    I cant figure out how to just get that little part off. Do i have to take the whole inside of the door off?

    Do it manually. Just open the door during cycle and dump the detergent in. Open the door slowly because it gets really hot.
