Trading my truck for street bike, sound like a bad idea?

alright so i got a 97' f150 super cab with 85k miles, its not a 4x4. has a 5.4 liter triton. and this guy wants to trade me his 06' cbr600rr with 15k miles on it.


the problem is... its my only form of transportation to work and stuff. what do you guys think? do any of you have a crotch rocket for your main form of transportation? i live in phoenix but the heat doesnt bother me.

my parents would shit a brick and my dad said id just sooner or later be an organ doner but is that just really over rated?

for one you have a truck what you can pretty much go anywhere in and haul stuff with and what if it rains for snows? are you going to drive your bike in the snow?
and your truck is probably worth alot more than the bike.

15k miles is a lot on an 06 cbr and its only worth around 8k when new... how much is your truck worth? and like mentioned above, what if it rains? how will u get to work since its your main form of transportation

man i live in an area that rarely rains and the temp here is always very mild. i love bikes. used to have an r6 but i would never trade my truck for one. sometimes its just nice to have a car man....

Bad idea dude. A motorcycle should not be your daily mode of transportation, i know because thats what i used to do, also 15k is a fair bit for a sports bike. As for the organ donor thing, i hate to admit it, but no, not over rated. Heres my experience, i got side swiped by a tundra, and went flying into the curb face first, my knee has not been the same since. One week later, i find out my friend got cut in two when he lowsided and went into a tree. two weeks after that, one of my best friends (we got our bikes together) high sided, the bike flipped and shatter a few of his cervical vertebra, this happened on the same stretch of highway where my friend had die, anyways yeah he hasn't been able to move since. The stories go on and on. I love riding like no other, and i wont give it up, but i certainly wont ride the streets anymore.

I've owned snowmobiles for the last 10 years we havent gotten much snow here lately in mass so i decided to sell 1 of them and traded my other 1.It was a 2001 zr 700 built! i traded it for a ski boat, used the boat 3 times last year.This year we have already 2 ft of snow wtf!

he lives in phoenix, it does not snow. Trucks are bass a$$ though, you would regret it so bad. You can make any truck look good to the ladies, and if they dont think so, then they can walk.

i had a bike once and it was my only ride. it was good on the really nice days, but when it rains or its cold. it sucks. id just save your money and then get one instead of trading it. plus your truck is prob worth more money than the bike. bikes are a chick magnet but like gixxer said there not gonna want to go on the bike all the time expecially when there all dolled up

That's a bad idea buddy,Keep your truck and just save your money and buy a bike when the time is rite.If you have to make such a rash decision like that then the time is just not rite.I want a bike to but I'm not gonna sacrifice my main source of transportation for it.Be patient your time will come.

thats true in most cases but there are alot of drivers out there that just dont pay attention and dont see people on bikes untill its too late.

Dude WTF? Hahahaha My buddy wants to buy my car come january or february and I want a bike too! I thought, hmmmm main means of transportation for a couple months then get a car.....Then again my parents told me BAD IDEA, get a car first bikes are toys cars are transportation! So Im thinkin of buying a cheap car for main transportation (4000 car or something of the like) once i get the car im going to buy a bike right away!
