I'm very interested in Call of Duty 4 and GTA4 when it comes out. Hows the online play on both of them?

I have both.... Xbox has more online players and lots of games... But PS3 is a cheap bluray player and has some games that xbox doesnt have...

360 but i would like to note that the 360's are known for breaking and over heating thus microsoft extended the standard warranty and often pays for shipping to fix these problems as well as sells cooling systems to help with how often they overheat

Ugh... to the list presented. A PS3 is a blu-ray player and entertainment device to stream HD content. If you plan on doing more with it besides playing games, a PS3 is the way to go. Go on AVS Home Theater forum and you see the members buying PS3s for the Home Theaters, not an Xbox.

Well, game developers are going to start using so much content in their games that it will be necessary to have more space if you don't want to keep switching DVD's every 2 minutes.... Blu ray holds something like 50 gigs while standard dvds (aka Xbox 360) only holds 9... do the math, which one will be obsolete sooner?

and the whole Halo line, combined with Gears, as the sales show, completely blew away playstation. not to metion ninja gaiden, just to throw the cherry on top.

mass effect, gears of war, bioshock, oblivion. great games and each one is reason enough to buy a 360. Mass effect is the best consol rpg ever, lets se if fallout 3 manage to beat it. I dont even know any game for the ps3 that I would want to buy.

Well, I ended up getting a PS3 and its awesome on the HDTV. One problem though, I linked it to my computer to share videos/music/pictures but it won't recognize any of my videos... they're all .avi format, do I need to convert them?

I think you can stream all video formats except for .avi files. You have to copy .avi files to the PS3 and play them from there. Did you update the PS3 to the latest firmware?

No, you shouldn't have to convert the files. .Avi is one of the supported formats.
